Rick Owens DRKSHDW's Scarpe Cargo Sneakers Can Carry Your Everyday Essentials
One pocket for your phone, the other for your keys and wallet?
Rick Owens‘ sub-label DRKSHDW is perfect for those looking for a more entry-level gateway into the Lord of Darkness’ wears, and it’s also renowned for its avant-garde footwear and collaborations with the likes of Converse. Now comes a new pair from Owens, dubbed the Scarpe Cargo sneakers.
As the name suggests, these high-top sneakers follow a more cargo-informed, utilitarian route, harnessed by the fact the shoes feature a large zip-up pocket that sits on the lateral side of each foot, covering pretty much half of the shoe from the top to the bottom.
The cotton-canvas pair is finished in Owens’ signature black but does feature “Milk” accents, notably highlighting the laces, the interior lining, and of course, the chunky rubber sole that features a large toe bumper, tonal stitching, and a zig-zag outsole. Other quintessential touches added to the sneaker include a medial-side zipper that makes it easier to get in and out of the shoe, as well as a picture — although it’s unclear of what it is — stitched into the inside of the tongue.
Rick Owens DRKSHDW’s Scarpe Cargo sneakers can be seen in the gallery above and bought from HBX now for $573 USD.
