CGI "Transhuman" RUBY 9100M Gets Futuristic With adidas' Ozrah
Featuring a butterfly hang tag to “remind and inspire us that transformation is always possible.”

adidas has thrown away the rule book by enlisting the digital artist and stylist RUBY 9100M for a collaborative take on the Ozrah.
RUBY 9100M self-identifies as a “transhuman,” which is the concept of being somewhere between human and posthuman. The CGI creation has been featured in global publications such as Vogue Hong Kong as its CGI guest editor and Marie Claire Hong Kong, and has also starred in campaigns for Chanel while maintaining their “day job,” if you will. For this collaboration, adidas wanted to tap into the futuristic and avant-garde nature of RUBY 9100M, so it decided to let the artist rework the Ozrah, which is adidas’ new and conceptual-looking silhouette.
Dominated by a bulbous adiPRENE+ sole unit, the sneaker comes in a predominantly “Cloud White” aesthetic that’s highlighted with “Silver Metallic” and “Shock Pink” accents. An engineered mesh base is overlayed with synthetic panels and another layer of clear TPU that’s slightly raised, while silver Three Stripes decorate the upper. Towards the rear, adidas’ pair sports a silver tube that links into the heel tab, which in itself stands out as it’s made from leather and features black stripes, just like the toe bumper.
Pink adidas branding hits the tongue while blue rope laces threaded through green fabric eyelets pop on the white base, and as the images show, a butterfly hang tag with RUBY’s name incorporated into the design has also been added. As adidas notes, “She uses the butterfly symbol to remind and inspire us that transformation is always possible, and who we are at our core is always essential.”
The RUBY 9100M x adidas Ozrah is set to release on September 17 at stockists such as Sivasdescalzo, and will cost €140 EUR (approximately $165 USD).
