Junya Watanabe of COMME des GARÇONS along with New Balance have a long-standing partnership as they continue on to release two new shades of the 574 silhouette. Earlier in the year, the duo previously elevated the BB480 model with an infusion of lifestyle flair.
Under the eYe COMME des GARÇONS Junya Watanabe MAN banner, an all-black 574 was presented in the late 2020s which boasts a sleek stark look with a hint of white. The two new pairs embody two different colorways, with one following a similar black leather finish and the other taking on the classic suede uppers in beige mixed with white canvas.
Swapping out the usual mesh collar and leather heel tab, the black opts for a continuation of full-on leather while the beige variation matches a collar padding of white with a canvas heel tab. Both designs stitch on an outlined “N” logo on the laterals and the upper eyestays are replaced with heavy-duty metal eyelet hooks bolted down with roping of round shoelaces. The interiors are lined with faux fur and ENCAP foam midsoles slide under the design sealed with rubber outsoles.
Both eYe COMME des GARÇONS Junya Watanabe MAN x New Balance 574 pairs run for £240 GBP (approximately $330 USD) and are available on Off Spring’s website.
