According to reports, Disney and Marvel Studios has tapped Anthony Mackie to star in the next Captain America film. Although not much is known about Captain America 4, the script is set to be written by Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson, head writer/creator and staff writer on the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

After appearing in five Marvel Cinematic Universe films, Mackie starred alongside Sebastian stan in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. The storyline of the popular series saw Mackie’s Sam Wilson/Falcon character officially pick up the shield to become Captain America following Steve Rogers’ departure.

It has been long rumored that Chris Evans‘ would return to the MCU as Steve Rogers in some capacity but it is unclear if he will play a part in Captain America 4.

For more entertainment news, James Gunn originally wanted Superman to be the villain in The Suicide Squad.
