Teasing his third solo album, Kevin Abstract has dropped the track “Sierra Nights,” featuring his longtime friend and collaborator Ryan Beatty.

The laid-back summertime single hears Abstract rap about “working nine to fives” while “dreaming of L.A.” from his suburban hometown in Texas. Fellow BROCKHAMPTON member Beatty joins in on the chorus.

Following last month’s “SLUGGER” featuring $NOT and slowthai, this new song comes paired with a visual in the style of a home movie, following the artists from hanging out with their friends in a nondescript bedroom to stargazing on a rooftop to spitting bars at a gas station.

Abstract first previewed the song on Twitter on August 9, where one user joked under the snippet that the BROCKHAMPTON members “love gas stations,” referencing the group’s frequent use of gas stations as backdrops in its videos, dating back to singles such as “SWEET” off of 2017’s SATURATION II.

The name for Abstract’s next album hasn’t been announced but he’s said that it will arrive sometime this year. In the meantime, it seems that the artist is focusing the majority of his attention on the seventh and last BROCKHAMPTON album, which will debut before the end of 2021.

Last week, Abstract put out an open call for up-and-coming producers to contribute to the project and earlier today, shared a photo of the band members at work.
