Marvel first began in 1939, reaching its golden era in the ‘60s with the help of Stan Lee, Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, launching titles such as 'The Fantastic Four,' 'Spider-Man' and 'Doctor Strange.' The company later branched out into the general entertainment industry, moving into animated television series and movies, going on to create the Marvel Cinematic Universe through Marvel Studios, which is responsible for the highest-grossing film of all time, 'Avengers: Endgame,' which made a record-breaking $2.79 billion USD. Now, Marvel Entertainment is a wholly owned subsidiary of Disney.
