Lil Baby has dropped his first release of the year with “Real As It Gets” featuring a verse from rising Louisville rapper EST Gee, alongside a new video directed by Caleb Jermale.
The high-energy track follows “Errybody” and “On Me”, which released on the rapper’s 26th birthday in December 2020. “On Me” has since reached certified platinum-status, which is now familiar territory for the rapper following a banner year of nominations and achievements.
Among other chart-topping projects, the artist saw his album My Turn, the most streamed album of the year, go triple platinum on it’s first anniversary; his videos for “Woah,” “All In,” “Sum 2 Prove,” “We Paid” and “Grace” occupied five of the spots on of Vevo’s Top 10 most watched hip-hop videos of the year.
And with his hit-making reputation, Lil Baby earned himself a spot amongst the Time 100 and Forbes 30 Under 30. In the last days of 2020, Meek Mill announced Lil Baby would join him, Lil Durk and 21 Savage to launch a digital streaming platform which would “maximize black wealth.”
