Paris Fashion Week is once again in session, and this season, we’re tracking all of the notable show soundtracks as they come in. Welcome to our Playback series, here for all of your runway song-ID needs.

Pharrell’s latest seasonal spectacle is first on the docket, with Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2027 showcase yet another captivating audiovisual endeavor under the music-led multihyphenate’s belt. Obviously intrinsically intertwined with the sonic zeitgeist, each of P’s LV runway shows has come bolstered by an immersive, fully original, Pharrell-produced soundtrack.

The surf-inspired Spring/Summer 2027 foray was no exception, equipped with a four-track lineup of new music coming from Quavo, Lil Baby, YoungBoy Never Broke Again and Angélique Kidjo, all recorded on-site at the Louis Vuitton Paris Headquarters and assisted by live instrumentation from L’Orchestre du Pont Neuf and The Voices of Fire choir.

“HAAVIN” by Quavo and Pharrell

We could’ve predicted this one. At the end of May, Quavo took to socials to share that his full-length collab project with Pharrell had officially been turned in. And this news didn’t come out of nowhere – nor any reason to take it with a grain of salt – as the Migos rapper first mentioned his imminent collaborative work with Pharrell last Fall, when he shared he and P linked up at the Louis Vuitton HQ in Paris, and cooked up the entire project in just one day. At the time, the project – which will arrive as Quavo’s third solo record – was rumored to be dubbed SATCHAMO, in homage to Louis Armstrong, with circulating feature names including Lil Yachty, Future, and Travis Scott. While we still can’t confirm most of the details surrounding the LP, we can confirm that there is a full-length Quavo x Pharrell album coming soon (with Quavo at the lyrical helm and P on production) and the lead single is “HAAVIN,” which premiered as the show’s opening track. Quavo’s braggadocio over P’s punctuating production was the perfect introduction to the new seasonal range. The cut is officially set for an official release on streaming services this Friday.

“Dead Fresh” by Lil Baby and Pharrell

Following up the high-octane opener and continuing the same sonic swagger came the first-ever collaboration between Pharrell and Lil Baby. While the two have circled each other in orbit for many years, the duo has never actually gotten in the studio together – until now. And what better place to debut the meeting of the minds than Pharrell’s seasonal Parisian opus? Dubbed “Dead Fresh,” the melodic-trap cut is a classic Baby banger, defined by his sleek, Southern-coded, stream-of-consciousness flow. There’s no word on the official release date of the song, but Baby was seen vibing out to it in the front row, so that’s definitely a good sign.

“Simulation” by YoungBoy Never Broke Again and Pharrell

The third song on the tracklist was the latest collaborative offering from YoungBoy and Pharrell – which, to the surprise of many, is actually their first studio collaboration without a third party involved; the pair cooked up together on Tyler, the Creator‘s CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST cut “JUGGERNAUT,” but in terms of official releases, that’s been all. Since the infamous 2019 album’s release, YoungBoy has been spotted with P many a time, whether its in a FROW seat or on the streets of Paris. With the collection inspired heavily by the rhythm of the ocean, “Simulation”‘s wavy production pairs nicely with the backing track of waves crashing, which played throughout the entire show.

“Bando” by Angelique Kidjo, Quavo, and Pharrell

A full choir harmonizing “In the Bando!” is something only Pharrell could orchestrate. Closing out the show was the Angelique Kidjo-led “Bando,” featuring assistance from both Pharrell and Quavo, as well as live vocals from L’Orchestre du Pont Neuf led by Thomas Roussel, and The Voices of Fire. “Bando” served as the perfect, cathartic close-out to the show. Lifted from Kidjo’s HOPE!! project, the track is on all streaming services now, so run it up.
