A new brand, Oto no Kagu By OJAS and Karimoku Furniture (hereafter referred to as Oto no Kagu), has launched, representing a collaboration between audio designer Devon Turnbull, who is based in New York and Tokyo and captivates music fans and culture enthusiasts worldwide, and Karimoku Furniture, a leading Japanese wooden furniture manufacturer. The launch collection, comprising 15 products, will be released simultaneously at Karimoku Furniture retailers nationwide from Thursday, October 22, 2026. On the same day, a pop-up event titled “Shadow, Light & Sound” will be held at The Conran Shop Daikanyama to commemorate the launch.

Oto no Kagu is an experimental brand that deconstructs the speaker design logic Devon has cultivated with his high-end audio brand OJAS, reconstructing it into furniture with architectural proportions and geometric forms. Born through trial and error in the co-creation project “KARIMOKU RESEARCH” by Karimoku Furniture, the collection includes the core Chair 001, the Shelving 001, whose strength and height were meticulously calculated to house LP records, vacuum tube amplifiers, and turntables, the freestanding Acoustic Panel OJ1 inspired by Japanese folding screens, as well as floor chairs and low tables that fit Japanese-style rooms and slow living.

In addition to “Pure Oak,” the color variations include the iconic “Pewter Gray” of OJAS speakers. This is a special coloring developed specifically for this project to achieve a beautiful color while preserving the texture of the wood grain.

A special listening room where cutting-edge craftsmanship intersects with a unique acoustic aesthetic will emerge.
