Inside Hypebeast Dinner with VERDY
Presented by G-SHOCK and Marina Bay Sands, the evening unfolded under shifting projections at IMBA, with hospitality by Foura.
Hypebeast brought its Dinner series to Singapore during F1 week, with Japanese artist VERDY flying in to co-host an evening presented by Marina Bay Sands and G-SHOCK. SORN, Riot Boys, Yung Raja and Mae Tan were among the familiar faces at the table, joining friends, family and collaborators for a night of food, wine and long conversation set against one of the city’s most unconventional dining backdrops.
Marina Bay Sands served as presenting partner for the evening, a natural fit for a dinner timed to F1 week. Since its opening in 2010, the integrated resort has anchored Singapore’s waterfront skyline, encompassing a hotel with rooms and suites across three towers, the iconic Sands SkyPark, Sands Theatre, ArtScience Museum and an extensiveroster of retail and dining destinations. Sitting just steps away from the Marina Bay Street Circuit that defines the city’s race weekend, it also captured the electric energy of the night race season with exclusive and memorable experiences for Formula 1 fans to enjoy.
G-SHOCK joined as co-presenter and made sure every guest left with something to remember the night by. Each seat was set with two pieces: the DW-5600UBB, finished in an all-black stealth treatment, and the G-SHOCK Nano, a miniature ring that shrinks the brand’s rugged design language down to fingertip scale.
The dinner itself unfolded inside IMBA Theatre, Singapore’s immersive arts and cultural destination at Gardens by the Bay, and the evening’s official experience. Instead of a static dining room, the space transformed throughout the night, with projections shifting across the walls as each new course arrived, so the setting evolved in step with the menu.
Foura an all-day dining destination nestled within a glasshouse within Gardens, brought its contemporary Asian and European cuisine to the evening, taking care of the food, wine and hospitality. The result felt more intimate gathering than race-week spectacle, with conversation carrying well beyond the final course.
The most coveted piece in the room, however, belonged to the co-host. VERDY wore a gold G-SHOCK produced in an edition of just 10, a watch that was never offered to the public and is reserved exclusively for his close circle of friends. For collectors in attendance, it was the closest look many will ever get at one of the brand’s rarest pieces.
