Summary

  • Leo dell’Orco’s 160+ looks embrace a relaxed, bohemian aesthetic, evoking the seaside.
  • Effortless styling highlights lived-in materials like cooling linens, rustic suedes, and breezy knits.

Giorgio Armani‘s SS27 collection took the runway in Milan, punctuating Fashion Week with a show comprising more than 160 looks in total. Designed by the late founder’s close collaborator, Leo dell’Orco, the creative director shared in the show notes, “I envisioned a collection that is very Armani: fluid lines, this time closer to the body, and fabrics with a lived-in appearance—vibrant, sun-scorched, and full of character. I believe that in menswear it is essential to return to researching and innovating materials.”

Indeed, the standout looks on Armani’s runway were undone, effortlessly styled, and rough around the edges. Flashy frills were nowhere to be found in this collection, which focused primarily on relaxed silhouettes and cooling materials seen in linen trousers, breezy mesh knitwear, and lightweight tailoring. The varied textures of lived-in linens, rustic suedes, and chunky knits gave the show a tactile dimension, imbuing each look with a bohemian character. The styling complemented the easy approach: tops were half-tucked and open at the collar, coats thrown over the shoulder, and flats dominated the footwear choices. Worn together with straw hats and slouchy handbags, the collection is a sure call for a season by the shore.
