Louis Vuitton has officially unveiled its Spring/Summer 2027 Men’s Pre-Collection, designed by Men’s Creative Director Pharrell Williams under the guiding title “Whatever the Weather.” Engineered for the global traveler navigating shifting forecasts between continents, the expansive capsule blends rainwear utility with elevated dandy tailoring and weather-defying fabrications.
The collection introduces the weathered Monogram Reporter motif, an aesthetic inspired by 1980s workwear that merges coated canvas with brown suede and leather paneling across blue nylon puffers, orange reversible gilets, and lasered denim sets. Archetypal rainwear garments are reimagined through luxury textiles, featuring shiny calfskin fisherman slickers, a durable puffer coat tailored in mini-Monogram jacquard, belted suiting, and packable fleece blousons that compress into their own front pocket.
Optical illusion plays a defining role through Trompe L’Oeil Jersey pieces, utilizing an advanced printing technique on leather to mimic the tactile feel of classic grey sweat-shirting across hoodies, Keepall 50s, Speedy 30s, and Track backpacks. Additional trompe l’oeil treatments include a silver-coated denim jacket simulating rain saturation, cashmere suits woven to look like denim, and spongy rubber spray evoking mud splashes across denim jackets, the LV Trainer, and the LV Ranger boot.
Luggage and footwear ranges further interpret the travel narrative. Bags spotlight faded blue and yellow Monogram Reporter canvases with cognac suede foundations, alongside a Keepall 35 adorned with 3D-printed glossy raindrops and an umbrella-shaped Monogram canvas bag. Footwear expands through the LV Drop 300 runner lined in fluffy mohair and mesh, the LV Titled sneaker, and the lightweight LV Ranger boot constructed from black suede, rubber, and ripstop.
