After making its homecoming debut in Taiwan earlier this year, BFF (BAO Fast Foods) is taking its next step in Singapore with a seven-week pop-up at New Bahru from November 11 through December 28, 2026.
Developed by London restaurant group BAO with Singapore’s The Lo & Behold Group, BFF reimagines the fast-food format through the lens of Taiwanese convenience-store and street-food culture, treating speed and accessibility as only part of the experience. The Singapore edition will function as a testing ground as the team continues developing BFF ahead of its first permanent location, planned for the first half of 2027.
Beyond the kitchen, the New Bahru space will borrow from the rhythms of an Asian convenience store, combining grab-and-go stations with Taiwanese snacks, Asian pantry staples, BAO-branded goods and rotating collaborations, while new items will be introduced throughout the run.
At the center of the menu is the Chicken Chopper, BFF’s take on Taiwanese fried chicken and a recipe that has reportedly gone through more than 140 iterations. The bone is deliberately left attached as a handle before the chicken is dipped in soymilk batter and tapioca starch for a thin, crackly crust, then finished in three ways: Original Crispy with Taiwanese white pepper; Flame Glazed, brushed with either soy-garlic glaze or mala hot honey before being torched; and Master Scalded, dipped into a hot master sauce infused with soy, star anise and cinnamon. It can be ordered as a ricebox or combo, alongside dishes such as Dan Dan Noodles and a Beef Cup Noodle topped with meat carved from a slow-roasting spit.
Drinks similarly sidestep standard fast-food conventions with Taiwanese craft teas developed with S.C Labs, including nitro-brewed Alishan Wintermelon and carbonated Orange Guava Beauty Tea, while an OATSIDE collaboration brings a peanut oat milk drink with boba and tea jelly. Egg sandos, marinated eggs, “Fried Rice” quinoa, golden kimchi, broth and soy puddings round out the grab-and-go selection. The pop-up will operate from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Wednesday through Monday, with 9 p.m. last orders, and will be walk-in only.
