The popularity over ASICS‘ lifestyle silhouettes has yet to subside, and one of the styles that tends to lead the charge every year for its timeless look and collaborative nature is the GEL-Lyte III. The model is now being crafted for a fresh new collection entitled the “Back Streets of Japan” Pack.

First on deck for this new capsule is the “Aqua Angel/Mako Blue” installment which is heavily dependent on dusty pastels to cover its various paneling. The aqua hue is tasked to wrap the breathable mesh underlays that form the mid-foot and toe boxes, while “Mako Blue’ spills onto the tiger stripes, laces and the overlays on the forefoot and heels. Faint touches of lavender paint over the suede toe tips and heels, while the various shades of pink dress up the mid-foot netting and ankle paneling. Lower regions get keep the same hues as the top, but split them up into three pastel sections for the midsoles and four segments for the treading.

Its release partner — the “Ivory/Black” makeup — is definitely more understated in its schemes, and mixes between neutral tones and small-yet-striking accents. The “Ivory” pigment engulfs the mesh underlays and comes accompanied by soft gray suedes that latch onto the front ends and heels. Black accents poke out through the ASICS logos, heel panels and laces, while charcoal grey hints spread to the collars, lower mid-foot and rear molds. Additionally, muted sage greens sprinkle to the base layer netting and GEL-Lyte III notations.

You can expect this duo to drop via ASICS Europe on March 19, 2021 for €120 (approx. $145 USD) each.

For other sneaker news, PENSOLE Academy and ASICS recently teamed up on a colorful GEL-Miqrum.
