Florida A&M's Basketball Teams Will Wear LeBron James-Branded Nike PEs and Uniforms
As part of a six-year agreement between the university and the Swoosh.

Florida A&M University has announced a six-year partnership with Nike that will see its basketball teams outfitted in special LeBron James-branded apparel and footwear. Though FAMU has been a Nike-sponsored school for over two decades, this partnership extension is unique in a major way: it’s the first time Nike, Inc. has placed non-Jordan Brand signature athlete motifs on a college athletic uniform.
The Rattlers’ vibrant green and orange uniforms will get a King James-centric makeover with special branding on the shoulders, but the biggest standout from the renewed alliance is the PE footwear. LeBron James himself debuted the green and orange snake-printed LeBron 18 PE seen above during the Los Angeles Lakers‘ March 2 game against the Phoenix Suns. “Nike has long supported Florida A&M, and I’m committed to lifting up HBCUs, so I was happy I rocked a pair of the PEs in-game and showcased a piece of what’s to come for the men’s and women’s basketball programs,” says James.
Apart from the outfitting of FAMU’s teams, Nike will also support the university’s student-athlete development programs, supply the student-athletes with internships and “coordinate networking opportunities” according to a Nike News press release. “Florida A&M has a rich tradition of excellence on the court and field, which not only includes athletic success, but equally important in academics, preparation for future careers and community engagement,” said Sonja Henning, Nike’s VP of League Partnerships for North America. “Through our continued relationship with Florida A&M Athletics, we’ll have the opportunity to partner with some of the country’s preeminent student-athletes and the next generation of leaders.”
