PENSOLE Academy and ASICS Collide for Vivid GEL-Miqrum Collaboration
An eye-catching “Indigo Blue/Blue Purple” take atop the lifestyle trainer by the Oregon-based institution.
PENSOLE Academy — a footwear design institution based in Portland, Oregon — is no stranger to the world of collaborations as it has teamed up with the likes of New Balance, ASICS and adidas in the past. This season, the educational entity is furthering its run of team-ups by connecting with ASICS once more for a flamboyant variation of the GEL-Miqrum.
Nothing about this street-ready iteration is understated. For this design, PENSOLE was influenced by retro ASICS runners from the 90s, and thus opted to outfit the silhouette with an ostentatious “Blue Purple” synthetic base layer that’s paired up next to “Indigo Blue” leather overlays which cling to the toe tips, throat and heels. The tiger logos which are tonally debossed on the lateral and medial panels are dialed to a vivid magenta, while fresh aqua blue hits drizzle over the tongue and heel branding. Moreover, the insoles are also playful in style as the right side features multi-colored ovals that surround its ASICS wording, while the left side is marked by a Japanese character.
Wavy shaped midsoles are loaded up with the usual GEL cushioning and come dressed with a blend of “Indigo Blue” backdrops, hot pink trim and teal heel molds.
