Nike Sportswear Covers the Air Force 1 in Iridescent Swooshes
An exercise in alternate branding, offering shades of John Geiger’s “Misplaced Checks.”

Between KITH collaborations and tie-dyed takes, it’s been a busy last few weeks for Nike‘s ever-popular Air Force 1 — an eventful stretch that’s set to continue with a new makeup covered in a cornucopia of Swooshes. Reminiscent of John Geiger‘s bespoke “Misplaced Check” designs from years past, these Forces offer a vivid exercise in alternate branding.
Done up in the Force’s famed all white and all black colorways, the duo of styles offer a multitude of Swooshes splayed across their monochromatic bases. Apart from standard Swooshes on the quarter panels, there’s also the front half of a Swoosh on both sides of the forefoot, which then disappears into the midsole before resurfacing towards the heel for a doubled-up detail. These checks are coated in everything from an oil slick-like iridescent material to a crackling black print and a high-gloss gold sheen. Tongue tags and heel tabs opt for more iridescent materials, and both looks are rounded off by traditional midsoles and outsoles.
Both colorways of the Nike Air Force 1 “Multi-Swoosh” will release at Japanese retailers like atmos on July 3, and each is priced at ¥11,000 JPY (approximately $102 USD).
In another section of Nike Sportswear, the popular Space Hippie line is set to release all four of its silhouettes in new “Volt” styles.
