Headie One Returns to His Roots With New Drill Anthem “Rose Gold”
Delivering the single alongside a quarantine-themed visual.
Earlier this year, rising UK MC Headie One solidified his artistic path with his collaborative tape alongside Fred again.. titled GANG, delivering a slew of experimental tracks and reflective poetics that expanded upon his signature drill style. Today, the Tottenham native returns to his roots, reigniting his drill empire with a murky new anthem titled “Rose Gold.”
The track, produced by Ghosty, continues to showcase why Headie is one of London’s future greats. Atop a muddy, hard-hitting backdrop, he fails to hold back. “H&M joggers, blood stains and tuna/Touch road, head straight to the bando/Got dog hairs on my fifty pound Pumas/Now I open my closet and everything Gucci/Snakes in the hood, Medusa/Pissed off ‘cah I got a rose gold future,” he unapologetically spits.
Alongside the release of the single, Headie has also supplied a quarantine-themed black and white visual directed by Nathan James Tettey, which sees the MC grinding in his home studio and working out indoors as he makes the most of these trying times.
