NikeCourt‘s Tech Challenge 20 has released in a familiar “Clay Blue” colorway. Drawing heavily from Andre Agassi‘s tremendously influential Air Tech Challenge 2 — a shoe so impactful it even partially inspired Kanye West‘s iconic Air Yeezy 2 — the Tech Challenge 20 combines recognizable Tech Challenge 2 details with an upgraded build that meets the demands of the modern-day game.

This “Clay Blue” iteration takes on on the Tech Challenge 2’s second most famous style, one that’s behind only the legendary “Hot Lava.” A lion’s share of the detailing is handled by blue and white splatter print on the lateral side’s supportive clip and the medial side’s heel area. These pieces are rimmed with wavy blue stripes, which race around the white leather upper.

More blue is present on the heel tab, with orange being introduced into the mix via a small Swoosh on the outsole’s lateral outrigger and a large medial Swoosh by the collar. More orange trim and an orange/silver badge hit the tongue, with insoles providing a special printed graphic. Collars are asymmetrical, higher on the inner half and lower on the outer half for a combination of support and flexibility. Down below, hard rubber outsoles rise onto the EVA foam midsole for extra durability, and slim heel Air Max units offer a finishing touch of cushioning.

The NikeCourt Tech Challenge 20 “Clay Blue” is available now on Nike CN, and retails for $120 USD. Expect a stateside drop to occur shortly.
