Nike's Air Max Tailwind IV Gets the Triple-Black Treatment
Bringing sleekness to a chunky silhouette.

After unveiling an earthy “Medium Olive” rendition of its Air Max Tailwind IV, Nike has returned with a new spin on the ’90s silhouette: a clean triple-black makeover.
Glossed throughout the entire body, the shoe embraces a single shade of black, offering a sleek, understated feel to its chunky mold. Starting at the top of the shoe is “MAX AIR” branding stamped at the tongue over a smooth satin base. Stretching from the heel to the upper midsection is thin piping, transitioning into double-stitched seams that cross over to the toecap. A tonal Swoosh logo is placed at the rear quarter, next to a row of wavy rubber overlays at the sidewalls. While the shoe embodies a triple-black design, there’s still one tiny detail that sets it apart from the dark color scheme: a contrasting white mini-Swoosh at the heel next to the backstay. Apart from this, everything else on the shoe is consistently tonal, even its optimized midsole, showing a black cushioning system through its transparent Air unit bubbles.
The Nike Air Max Tailwind IV is currently available on atmos’ website for $152 USD.
