After a brief hiatus, Nike‘s Air Max Tailwind IV is back in a seasonally appropriate “Medium Olive” colorway that features alternate materials. Constructed of denim and felt instead of the Tailwind’s standard mesh/suede mix, the “Medium Olive” offers a slightly more rugged build than past releases, one that’s artfully accented by its color palette.
The felt base layer serves up a tan and white chevron pattern, zigging and zagging in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it fashion. This sweater-like layer is accented further by green and red contrast stitching, moving in vertical and horizontal lines. Overlays are constructed of olive green denim with just a touch of black denim making an appearance as well.
Pops of rich burgundy are dispersed through the branded accents, midfoot’s signature plastic pieces and on the tongue/throat, with a grey trim offering a finishing touch of contrasting color. Quilted detailing appears around the tongue and throat, while the black and silver midsole intentionally fades into the background, enabling the heavily detailed top half to handle the heavy lifting.
The Nike Air Max Tailwind IV “Medium Olive” is currently available on Nike’s webstore for $160 USD.
