Nike is bringing back the Air Max Goadome “Black Pony Hair” on October 29, giving fans a second shot at one of the boot’s more textured makeovers. The pair swaps the Goadome’s typical black leather for a full pony hair build, while leaving the silhouette’s outdoor-ready construction untouched.
The pony hair takes over almost every panel of the upper, wrapping the toe, mudguard, side panels, tongue and ankle collar in the same tonal black. Up close, the hair grows noticeably longer where panels meet and along the seams, giving the boot a fuzzy, slightly unkempt finish that reads more luxe than utilitarian. Keeping everything in a single shade lets the texture do the talking.
Detailing stays minimal so the material remains the focus. Black rope laces blend straight into the upper, while small white Swooshes stitched near the heel and onto the tongue offer the only real contrast on the outside. A gold Nike logo printed on the insole adds a hidden flourish that only shows once the boot comes off.
Below the upper, the Goadome sticks to its familiar formula. A thick black midsole shows off Air units along its sidewalls and carries molded ACG branding, while the rubber outsole underneath relies on deep, aggressive lugs for grip, with more ACG hits stamped across the bottom. The overall boot profile is unchanged, which means the pony hair is the single biggest shift between this pair and the standard leather version.
