Brain Dead and Dr. Martens reunite to push the Wayborne Boot into more experimental territory, presenting the rugged mid-cut silhouette in two maximalist mixed-material executions.

The first variant combines rub-off Multi Arcadia leather with black-and-white zebra hair-on panels, creating a deliberately volatile surface that shifts between black, Toxic Green and Dark Teal. The leather’s layered color treatment is designed to gradually wear away with use, revealing different tones beneath for an increasingly beaten-up, almost burned-out appearance over time.

Glossy leather sections contrast sharply against the fuzzy animal-print inserts, while hiking-inspired metal hardware, black-and-white patterned laces and oversized paneling reinforce the boot’s offbeat utilitarian character. Beneath it all, a thick, lugged Wayborne outsole keeps the design anchored in Dr. Martens’ workwear-informed footwear language.

The second edition takes an equally expressive approach through Cherry Red leather and leopard-print hair-on panels. Compared with the neon-like green-and-black version, the combination of deep burgundy leather and warm tan-and-black animal print gives the boot a darker, more traditional Dr. Martens foundation before Brain Dead’s contrasting textures disrupt it. Black hardware, patterned laces and the heavy outsole sharpen the finish, while co-branding adds a final collaborative touch without competing with the material mix. This Cherry Red variation will be exclusive to Brain Dead channels, Dr. Martens Showroom Tokyo and the Dr. Martens Brewer St. Store, while the Brain Dead x Dr. Martens Wayborne Boot collection launches on October 23, 2026.
