UCLA Bruins Agree to Six-Year Partnership with Nike Inc. and Jordan Brand
The deal follows the termination of its $280 million USD contract with Under Armour.
The UCLA Bruins have announced that they have officially inked a multi-year partnership with Nike Inc. and Jordan Brand. Previously, the Los Angeles-based institution endured a fall-out with Under Armour that eventually lead to the termination of the two parties’ record-breaking $280 million USD contract.
Starting on July 1, 2021, all 25 of the Bruins’ varsity sports teams will sport athletic footwear, apparel, uniforms and equipment provided by the Beaverton-based imprints. Jordan Brand will deck out the men’s and women’s basketball programs as well as the football squad, while the Swoosh will take care of the rest of the athletic clubs. This partnership marks UCLA becoming only the fifth university in the nation to join hands with the Jumpman family for football.
When speaking on the newly-forged partnership, Jordan Brand President Craig Williams states, “Like Nike and Jordan Brand, the Bruins have a championship mindset and their impact is felt both in sport and within the community…We are beyond excited to welcome UCLA into the family and are looking forward to partnering with some of the best athletes in the world.”
Die hard fans who bleed the blue and gold will be able to cop Nike/Jordan-branded UCLA products starting Fall 2021.
