Take a Detailed Look at the KITH x Nike Air Force 1 "New York"
A love letter from the NYC-based brand and retail outlet to the Big Apple and the Knicks.
Though KITH‘s retail and brand empire has touched down in cities as diverse as Tokyo and Los Angeles, its roots are the deepest in New York City, an ethos that was fully on display with the brand’s unveiling of a co-created Nike and New York Knicks collection. The standout piece of this collection? An oft-teased, NYC-centric Air Force 1 Low. Previewed through 2020, the shoe is set to release before the year draws to a close — and ahead of its official arrival, detailed images enable a deep dive into its dashing design.
Officially dubbed “White/Rush Blue/Brilliant Orange,” this Air Force 1‘s uppers are composed of crisp white leather and boast an OG-style shape with thick heel padding. Signature details are served up by orange lateral Swooshes and bright blue medial Swooshes. Apart from their alternating color, these branded hits are made of a glossy plastic material that fades slightly towards the heel, and unlike most in-line Forces they don’t connect with the heel tab.
Nike Sportswear‘s familiar NYC/Swoosh graphic is present and accounted for on each lateral heel, and a trifecta of KITH branded hits rounds off the top half: a hybrid KITH Air embellishment embroidered in orange on the heel, a gradient-style KITH box logo tongue badge overlaid by a black Swoosh and the same motif sans Air Force 1 text stamped on the insole. White midsoles and icy blue outsoles round off the look.
The KITH x Nike Air Force 1 “NYC” will release via the KITH webstore and the brand’s retail locations on December 18 at 11AM EST for $130 USD.
