Anthony Mackie Plays an Overpowered Android Soldier in 'Outside the Wire'
From the studio behind ‘Extraction’ and ‘Old Guard.’
Netflix has now released an action-packed trailer for its upcoming sci-fi action film Outside the Wire, starring Anthony Mackie and Damson Idris.
While plot details remain scarce at this point, Netflix’s official synopsis of the film describes Mackie’s Leo as an android officer in a race against insurgents to locate a doomsday device. He’s joined by Idris’ character Harp, who is sent into the “deadly militarized zone” and ends up working for Leo.
Produced by the studio behind Chris Hemsworth’s Extraction and Charlize Theron’s Old Guard, Outside the Wire is directed by Mikael Håfström, whose previous works include Escape Plan and The Rite. Ben Pugh, Erica Steinberg, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Mackie and Jason Spire will all be co-producers, while Emily Beecham, Michael Kelly, and Pilou Asbæk join Mackie and Idris in the main cast.
Outside the Wire is scheduled for to hit Netflix January 15, 2021.
