Oi Polloi Updates the Aran Jumper for the Modern Age
Introducing a colorful Ivy League-inspired stripe to the classic piece.

After its recent mohair collaboration with Lyle & Scott, Oi Polloi has continued its knitwear exploration by reinventing the classic Aran Jumper. The Oi Polloi Aran Jumper features a number of twists from the classic piece, including a more-relaxed fit and and a single-ribbed collar.
The modernized elements of the Aran Jumper come from Oi Polloi founder Steve Sanderson’s own search for the perfect piece. “I thought it was time to try bring the dream into the real world and attempt to make something that fits in the way you wanted it to,” says Sanderson. “I feel strongly that classic designs tend to evolve over time. If they don’t they start to feel a bit wrong.”
The made-in-England jumpers are also adapted from the classic piece through the colors used. While one comes in the “Pure Aran” design, the collection also features items in “Burgundy” and “Blue John Nep.” The stand-out, though, takes a “Pure Aran” base and adds a nautical and Ivy League-inspired “Sunburst” stripe across the middle.
All four colors of the Aran Jumper will release via the Oi Polloi web store on December 18, priced at £130 GBP (approximately $175 USD).
