'Captain Marvel 2' Delayed to November 2022
The sequel’s original July 2022 release date will now be for ‘Black Panther 2.’

The release date of Captain Marvel 2 has officially been postponed to November 11, 2022.
Taking to social media to announce the news, Marvel confirmed that Candyman‘s Nia DaCosta will replace Captain Marvel’s Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck as the sequel’s director. Also joining Brie Larson (Carol Danvers) in the upcoming film are Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel (also playing the role in her Disney+ series) and Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau (also in WandaVision), the daughter of Carol’s number two, Maria.
The forthcoming sequel was initially scheduled to premiere on July 8, 2022 as part of the MCU Phase 4, but that original release date now belongs to Black Panther 2. Marvel Studios executive vice president of production Victoria Alonso confirmed that they will not be using CG technology to bring back the late Chadwick Boseman, and rumors are pointing at T’Challa’s sister and tech genius Shuri (portrayed by Letitia Wright) to take on a bigger role.
In case you missed it, Disney+ announced 20 new projects across Marvel and Star Wars.
