The late Stan Lee, whose works continue to inspire a generation of Marvel fans and movie-goers alike, has been greatly missed. He’s often remembered for his boundless creativity, kindness and steadfast moral compass. But some who’ve worked very closely with the man remember some less-than-graceful moments. In honor of Lee’s vibrant personality, one of his former sound engineers put together a short animation that follows one studio session where Lee hilariously went off on a long profane rant.

In the clip, we discover that Stan Lee was not one to shy away from speaking his mind, even if it meant being crass. The video measures at a little under the two-minute mark, beginning with sound engineer Aaron describing Lee as “the best,” while explaining how the recording was one of his favorite memories with “the old man” in the nine years that the two worked together. In the recording, Lee explains, “it seems to me that so-called ‘dirty word’ is probably the most useful word in the English language. It could be a verb. It could be a noun. It could be anything.” What follows is a colorful symphony of “F”-bombs launching from out of Lee’s mouth, describing all its different grammatical uses while laughter filled the room.

In case you missed it, Deadpool 3 is moving forward with new writers but will remain R-rated.
