Marvel has launched the Countdown to Avengers: Doomsday Official Podcast, a video series built to walk fans back through the Infinity Saga on a schedule that leads straight to the new film. Available on Disney+, YouTube and audio platforms, the podcast pairs Ms. Marvel star Iman Vellani with Frank Alvarez, co-host of the comedy podcast The Basement Yard, for a structured rewatch running up to Avengers: Doomsday.
The format is designed as a runway rather than a loose chat. Each episode has Vellani and Alvarez revisit a single Infinity Saga film, pairing a recap with an in-depth conversation that walks through specific scenes and traces the Avengers’ arc, while, in Marvel’s words, “celebrating the MCU’s most iconic moments.” Along the way, the two speculate about the themes, characters and story threads that could feed into the reunion Doomsday is setting up.
The countdown is mapped to five films across consecutive weeks, all of them streaming on Disney+. The series opened on August 27 with The Avengers, then continues through Avengers: Age of Ultron on September 3, Captain America: Civil War on September 10, Avengers: Infinity War on September 17, and Avengers: Endgame on September 24. The sequencing effectively rebuilds the emotional spine of the Infinity Saga in order, so viewers arrive at the finale primed for what comes next.
That finale is where the countdown ties back into theaters. The fifth episode is timed to land alongside the September 25 theatrical re-release of Avengers: Endgame: Encore, turning the podcast’s closing beat into a lead-in for seeing the saga’s biggest chapter on the big screen again. From there, the runway points to December 18, when Avengers: Doomsday opens.
