Marvel Studios has officially unveiled the core cast for its upcoming X-Men reboot on stage at Disney‘s D23 Expo. The grand presentation confirmed the new generation of actors stepping into the iconic mutant roles under the direction of Thunderbolts* filmmaker Jake Schreier.
The official roster introduces Sadie Sink reprising her role as telepath Jean Grey following her debut in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, alongside Kit Connor as Cyclops, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier, Maya Boyd as Storm, and Inde Navarrette as Rogue. Rounding out the lineup, Adam Driver appeared via video message to confirm his casting as the villainous Mr. Sinister, initially teasing the audience as Magneto before revealing his true character name, Nathaniel Milbury.
According to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, the ensemble met in person for the first time backstage before stepping out at D23. Grounded in comic lore, the narrative focuses on the awakening of the X-gene during puberty and Professor Xavier’s mission to establish his School for Gifted Youngsters to protect and train young mutants against societal persecution.
Marvel Studios’ X-Men will officially release in theaters on May 5, 2028 following the debut of 2027’s Avengers: Secret Wars.
