Disney and Marvel Studios have officially set a theatrical release date for Ghost Rider, starring Ryan Gosling. The comic book feature is scheduled to land in theaters on July 28, 2028, following release calendar updates following the D23 fan event.
Directed by Shawn Levy from a script by Jonathan Tropper, Ghost Rider stars Gosling as the Spirit of Vengeance, taking over the role previously portrayed by Nicolas Cage in Sony’s original duo of films. The project serves as one of three Marvel titles slated for 2028, joining an untitled X-Men feature on May 5, 2028, and Black Panther 3 on December 15, 2028. An additional untitled Marvel project has also been penciled in for November 9, 2029.
Beyond Marvel, Disney updated several theatrical dates across its animation and live-action slate. Pixar’s Ghost Market moves to March 10, 2028, followed by a live-action remake of Tangled on March 31, 2028, animated film Clay on November 22, 2028, and Coco 2 on November 21, 2029. Additionally, Searchlight Pictures’ horror project Monitor moved up to an April 16, 2027 release date.
Ghost Rider officially premieres in theaters on July 28, 2028.
