FX has officially debuted the first detailed trailer for its upcoming Snowfall spinoff series, The Drop: A Snowfall Saga. The preview spotlights returning characters Wanda Bell (Gail Bean) and Leon Simmons (Isaiah John) as they pivot from the aftermath of the crack epidemic to the rise of 1990s West Coast hip-hop.
Set in Los Angeles, the series finds Wanda striving to reinvent herself within the music business, driven by the belief that West Coast rap has the power to reshape American culture. Her journey leads her to an internship with former drug dealer turned record label owner Darryl “DG” Grant (Brandon Mychal Smith). Working alongside a new group of talent, Wanda collaborates with producer Lamar Kinsey (Asante Blackk) and local rapper Artillery, played by West Coast artist Buddy.
Meanwhile, Leon takes a contrasting path away from street life, pursuing atonement by operating a free legal clinic. His commitment to a clean break creates growing tension with Wanda’s ambitious moves in the music industry. Executive produced by Malcolm Spellman, Dave Andron, Thomas Schlamme, Julie DeJoie, Michael London, Trevor Engelson, and Paul Garnes, the narrative explores the dangerous overlap between music, street politics, and personal survival.
The Drop: A Snowfall Saga officially premieres on September 8, 2026, at 9 p.m. ET on FX, with new episodes scheduled to drop every Tuesday.
