Khakis Is for People Who Take Their Old Clothes Very Seriously

For Fall/Winter 2026, the Seoul label recreates the fits, fabrics, colors, and wear that make old clothes worth hunting down.

Am I the only one who can’t get enough of Khakis? The vintage-obsessed clothing brand from JKND Co. Ltd., the same Seoul-based creative group that brought us thisisneverthat, has been on a tear for a few seasons now. Beyond making some of the best washed and naturally aged military- and workwear-inspired garbs around, Khakis has racked up a string of banger collaborations with Merrell, New Balance, Reebok, and even nonnative. Its Seoul flagship has also quietly become a destination of its own, hosting several pop-ups with everyone, one of Japan’s latest understated, yet increasingly influential, fashion brands.

For Fall/Winter 2026, Khakis is sticking with what got it here in the first place, once again digging through decades of military, workwear, and outdoor references to create clothes that feel convincingly pulled from another era. Rather than reinventing the wheel, the brand continues to obsess over the details — the right fit, the right fabrication, and, perhaps most importantly, the right amount of wear.

I had the chance to speak with Creative Director Junhyung Seo during a trip to Seoul last fall, when he described Khakis as the adult version of thisisneverthat. It makes a lot of sense, considering Seo previously served as a designer at the latter. Where thisisneverthat leans into a more youthful street-meets-punk-meets-skate aesthetic, Khakis is for the shoppers who geek out over period-specific apparel. Maybe it’s your favorite style of polar fleece from decades ago, only in the color you always wished it came in. Or maybe it’s a red quilted down jacket that looks like something pulled from the catalog of a classic outdoor brand years ago.

That’s ultimately what makes Khakis special. The brand has an affinity for not only getting the reference just right, but also nailing the fit, fabrication, and natural wear that made the original worth obsessing over in the first place.

It’s an approach baked into the brand’s “Made to Last” and “Dead Gear” philosophies — “dead” in the sense of “deadstock.” In other words, if you want clothes that look like something you could’ve spent years hunting down at a thrift store, but didn’t because, one, it probably wouldn’t come in your size, or, two, you’d rather not deal with the pains of upkeep and extensive cleaning, you’ve found the right place. Expect deliveries from Khakis’ Fall/Winter 2026 collection to begin arriving at the brand’s online store and Seoul flagship in the coming weeks.
