New Balance 998 Appears With Rich Purple Hues
A luxurious colorway for the high quality runner-turned-lifestyle silhouette.

Purple is an elegant, regal hue — one that New Balance is inherently familiar with, having used it with great gusto on models like the 997 and 998. Now, the latter of those two is getting another perfectly purple palette, thanks to this new suede-equipped style.
With a multitude of purple hues, the high quality upper is an exercise in thoughtful construction, mixing a mesh toebox with a suede mudguard and heel counter. All three of these pieces are dressed in the same shade, with a more vibrant purple tone appearing on the plastic midfoot overlay. High visibility reflective material is present at the bottom of the toebox and on the heel. There’s also a reflective purple N logo on the midfoot; this is stitched on top of the black suede quarter panel that combines with the black tongue to present the shoe’s darkest piece of detail, countered by a proud “MADE IN USA” embroidery stitched under the shoe’s model number.
More New Balance graphics are dispersed across the tongue and heel, with a black plastic heel clip offering support. All of this rests on top of a durable white ABZORB foam midsole with a fuchsia block towards its forefoot. A multi-colored rubber outsole finalizes the stylings.
These potent New Balance 998s are available now at stockists like Browns, and retail for an import fee-included price of $257 USD.
