New Balance Updates M997NAK in Lush "Royal Purple/Black" Tones

Following an Earth-toned iteration, New Balance has returned with an updated 997 doused in a lush “Royal Purple/Black” colorway. Dubbed M997NAK, the update features a bevy of handcrafted details above premium pig suede textiles.
Coming in a mix of suede, leather and rubber panels, the sneakers have been assembled by hand at local factories in Maine and Massachusetts. The top of the tongue is stamped with “New Balance” embroidery above a lush grey base, followed by flat black laces covering the forefoot. Smooth rubber overlays appear along the upper quarters, complemented by black sidewalls stamped with the “N” logo. The lower areas of the shoes are rich with bold purple highlights, covering the rear quarter and all of the toebox. All of these details sit above a full-length ENCAP midsole, packing a flexible split-detail polyurethane technology to deliver lightweight comfort and support.
