N.HOOLYWOOD Drops SS20 UNDERCOVER Collaboration
“REBEL FABRIC BY UNDERCOVER” encompasses an array of deconstructed staples.

First seen during the Spring/Summer 2020 runway presentation, N.HOOLYWOOD has finally launched its “REBEL FABRIC BY UNDERCOVER” collaboration. Taking cues from punk culture, N.HOOLYWOOD revises a host of staple items with a stark plaid and playful accents.
Inspired by Britain’s ’70s punk scene, N.HOOLYWOOD designer Daisuke Obana recruited UNDERCOVER’s Jun Takahashi to craft a tartan plaid-patterned wool (hearkening back to early UNDERCOVER collections), which informs a host of tweaked warm weather staples. These include a coat, fishtail parka, blazer, oversized shirt, slacks and kilted shorts, often reimagined with three-dimensional pockets and offset seams. Because of the tonal plaid, the pouches attached to the chester coat and parka, for instance, bulge the pattern, while the taper of the slacks creates an unevenness around the edge of the trouser.
The “REBEL FABRIC BY UNDERCOVER” collection is available now via N.HOOLYWOOD’s ZOZOTOWN page, web store and Japanese boutiques.
Most recently, we caught up with UNDERCOVER’s feudal Japan-inspired Fall/Winter 2020 presentation.
