Fendi Takes on Shanghai for Its Second FW19 Showcase
Staged at a 23,000-square-meter art museum.

After staging its initial men’s Fall/Winter 2019 runway show in Milan this January, and subsequently its women’s range in February, Fendi descended upon Shanghai on Friday to showcase its forthcoming wintry looks yet again.
Presented at the pristine 23,000-square-meter Powerlong Art Museum, the event both promoted domestic and international art as well as paid tribute to the late creative director, Karl Lagerfeld, who helmed the Italian fashion house for a record-breaking 54 years before his passing in February. Alongside the original set of looks that hit the runway earlier this year, the label offered up five new options for men, and ten for women — marking its first joint show — all the while sticking to its contemporary-meets-heritage ethos throughout.
A few standout items for men include the colorful, branded bomber jacket paired with sleek black slacks, the micro-print logo blazer, and the metallic striped zip-up. Meanwhile, Fendi recruited a number of notable figures from Asia to serve as models, such as Chinese actors Gong Li and Timmy Xu, and Thai actress Davika Hoorne. Watch the full show in action in the video below.
Fendi, along with Chanel and the Karl Lagerfeld brand, will also honor the deceased designer in a memorial this summer during Paris Fashion Week, where up to 2,500 guests are expected to be in attendance.
