Karl Lagerfeld Memorial to Be Held at the Grand Palais This Summer
Organized by FENDI, CHANEL and the late designer’s eponymous brand.
FENDI, CHANEL and the Karl Lagerfeld brand are teaming up for a memorial to honor the late designer.
Entitled “Karl For Ever,” the memorial will showcase photographs and video footage of the artistic director and his collaborators along with interpretative dance, music and theater performances. Helmed by opera director Robert Carsen, the tribute will be held at the Grand Palais — the venue where Lagerfeld has presented his CHANEL collections since 2005. The invite-only event is expected to be attended by almost 2,500 guests on the evening of June 20 during Paris Men’s Fashion Week.
Lagerfeld passed away on February 19 at age 85.
