Towards the beginning of this month, Big K.R.I.T. formally introduced his next studio album, K.R.I.T. IZ HERE, by debuting a new single fittingly-titled “K.R.I.T. HERE.”. Now, following up the recent release of the aforementioned solo effort, the down-south lyricist is back with another high-profile K.R.I.T. IZ HERE single. Known as “Addiction,” K.R.I.T.’s latest track finds him linking up with Lil Wayne and Saweetie over Dor Corleon production.

“We actually was in L.A. last year working on this particular record,” K.R.I.T. explained to Zane Lowe, sharing some insight into his latest single’s origins for an exclusive Beats 1 interview. “I got in the studio to work with Rico Love. He actually executive produced the album along with my manager, Dutch. And so Don Corleon did the beat, Rico was vibing and came up with hook concept. And then it was like a challenge for me, just the different groove, you know what I’m saying, different vibe with the record. And then we had it, and then it just kind of kept on folding. Well, we was able to get Wayne on the song, right? And then Rico was in the studio with Saweetie, and then we was able to get her on the record, and then it just became this monster that it is now. And I’m still being my country self … But experimenting with different cadences and ways just come off that people might not be used to, but I’m excited about that.”

You can check out Big K.R.I.T., Lil Wayne and Saweetie’s new collaboration and single “Addiction” above. Big K.R.I.T.’s fourth studio album, K.R.I.T. IZ HERE, is scheduled to see release on July 12. Besides K.R.I.T.’s “Addiction” cohorts Lil Wayne and Saweetie, K.R.I.T. IZ HERE will also feature guest-contributions from WOLFE de MCHLS, Baby Rose and DJ Camper. His last full-length solo album was 2017’s 4Eva Is A Mighty Long Time, which he dropped in October of that year.

Back in April, Big K.R.I.T also shared a visual for another new single, “Energy.”
