Lemaire presented a defined take on proportions and polished tailoring for its Spring/Summer 2020 menswear collection. A to-the-point palette of earthy colors was married with no-fuss styling — shirts cleanly tucked and belted throughout, a waist bag thrown over the shoulder here and there — creating an understandable range of workwear pieces with a sophisticated touch.
Shades of brown, black, cream, grey and the occasional blues set a muted tone for the assortment, drenching items like blazers, trench coats and collared shirts in the tops department. To play with volume, high-waisted flared pants were met with boxy jackets and on the opposite end, rolled-cuff denim and trousers were paired with longer overcoats and lightweight outerwear.
The sportswear element came through most clearly by way of layered T-shirt and turtleneck looks, while piped-seam joggers comprised the most literal take. A selection of unobtrusive prints served as patterns on a variety of button-downs, offering a bit of playfulness to round out the mix.
