Summary

Sandy Liang has presented its Spring/Summer 2027 runway collection, built around modularity and the idea of dressing for your own whims

Princess detailing runs through the sportswear, with a ruffle set over the seat of track pants and dolphins kissing across the back of a track jacket

Accessories carry the season, from bunny shoes with gemstone eyes to leg warmers trailing ribbons and hair clips arranged like a bouquet

Sandy Liang has unveiled its Spring/Summer 2027 runway collection, a season the label frames around getting dolled up specifically in order to run around. The premise is modularity and functionality treated as a daydream rather than a constraint, with each season understood as another part of the Sandy girl’s closet being opened up. Familiar objects come back altered, the design logic being that everyday things and memories can be reconsidered rather than replaced.

The detailing is where that idea gets literal. A ruffle is positioned over the seat of a pair of track pants, dolphins kiss across the back of a track jacket, and lace is finished with clear paillettes so the fabric catches light as the wearer moves. Trompe l’oeil skirts state their own intentions rather than hiding the trick, while a soft V-neck sweater is cut just low enough to register as deliberate. Tailored workwear and white patent-leather wedges pull the collection back toward something more serious.

Bags and shoes carry the same tension between usefulness and excess. A gorp-fantasy bag arrives stamped with a “Sandy Liang X3000” logo, placing nostalgia and futurism in the same object, and a purse is fitted with more pockets than could realistically be filled. Even a miniature bag is organized so everything has a designated spot. Vibrant ballet shoes borrow their shape from house slippers, bunny shoes are set with gemstone eyes, leg warmers trail streaming ribbons, and a large sash is treated as the piece that finishes an outfit on the basis that days and nights are worth celebrating. Hair clips are clustered so they bloom over the neck like a bouquet spilling sideways.

Taken together, the collection reads as technical dressing put through a fantasy filter, practicality made precious for a girl who lives in a fairytale and, as the notes put it, whose home team is Versailles.
