Blizzard Entertainment has officially revealed StarCraft, a new open-world sci-fi shooter set within the iconic gaming universe. The title was announced during the opening ceremony of BlizzCon 2026 at the Anaheim Convention Center with a target release date of 2030.

Titled simply StarCraft, the game serves as the first mainline entry in the video game franchise since 2015’s StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void. Set in the Koprulu Sector 70 years after the events of Legacy of the Void, the project transitions the long-running series into an open-world, story-driven shooter format.

Led by game director Dan Hay, the title is currently early in development. According to Blizzard Entertainment, future updates will offer gameplay reveals and deep dives into the world over the coming years as part of a broader slate of franchise announcements revealed at BlizzCon.

StarCraft is currently scheduled to launch in 2030.
