Big K.R.I.T. Announces Studio Album & Shares New Single "K.R.I.T. HERE"
The new album follows 2016’s critically-acclaimed ‘4eva is a Mighty Long Time.’

After releasing his three latest EPs in the surprise drop of his TDT compilation album earlier this year, Mississippi rapper Big K.R.I.T. has returned with an album announcement for his upcoming studio album, K.R.I.T. IZ HERE, commemorating the news with a new single entitled “K.R.I.T. HERE.” Presumably the follow-up to his 2010 mixtape, K.R.I.T. WUZ HERE, the new album is purportedly the artist’s second studio release as an independent following his parting from Def Jam in 2016.
The new single relishes in much of the rapper’s ideas surrounding independence, self-love, and artistic evolution, continuing with his signature sound that embraces his Southern hip-hop characteristics. Produced by Camper, the beat embraces a variety of horn additives and distorted basses — more fill effects including snare and vocal samples fill out the track’s atmosphere. K.R.I.T. noted that there “ain’t nothing like celebrating my independence,” further sharing a “shoutout to Camper for being able to match the energy on the production.”
You can listen to the album’s first single “K.R.I.T. HERE” below. The album will be released on July 12.
