Inside the World of Anyma: From ‘Genesys’ to ‘ÆDEN’ and His Singapore Debut
Anyma speaks with Hypebeast in an exclusive conversation about all things F1 race weekend and performing on the grand stage.
For Anyma, electronic music goes beyond sound. The DJ and producer has built an audiovisual world exploring technology, science fiction and humanity’s relationship with the digital age. With his Genesys trilogy behind him, he’s now expanding that vision through ÆDEN, a new chapter that continues to evolve with each performance.
Having taken his productions to the Las Vegas Sphere, Coachella and the Pyramids of Giza, Anyma now makes his Singapore debut during Formula 1 race weekend. The performance marks a return to his club roots, bringing his latest audiovisual world into a different setting after a run of large-scale shows. He takes the stage at MARQUEE Singapore on October 10, 2026.
You’re making your Singapore debut right in the middle of race weekend, one of the city’s biggest weekends. What are you looking forward to experiencing while you’re here?
Experiencing Singapore and its people properly, as it’s such a beautiful country, as is all of Southeast Asia in general. This region in particular is one I’ve been deeply inspired by in its modern and ancient forms.
“Each ÆDEN show is different, with the narrative constantly evolving through new songs and visuals.”
Visuals have become a defining part of the Anyma experience. What do you want people to feel when they see them live?
I want people to feel an emotion deeper than a party performance. I hope the takeaway feels valuable for the fans and that the thematic narratives of future, past, humanity, and technology ultimately resonate deeper. Of course these are primarily subjective and up to interpretation, but if people leave an ÆDEN show and feel moved in some way, then I’ve achieved my goal.
Anyma has grown into an entire world beyond the music. At this point, where does Matteo end and Anyma begin?
Creating the Anyma project was really just a combined reflection of who I am and what my passions have been throughout my life. Video games, anime, sci-fi, and fantasy worlds were huge influences on me outside of music, so Anyma came about as the best way I knew how to put all of my personal self into one persona.
After spending years building Genesys, you’ve now entered a new chapter with ÆDEN. What did you want to do differently this time around?
I wanted to take the same themes of the Genesys story and push that narrative into its next form, and even something that I find more topical with the way our world is changing. ÆDEN is still a story of technology and humanity, which constantly seem to be at odds in our real-world timeline, but not my story. Each ÆDEN show is different, with the narrative constantly evolving through new songs and visuals. We often make specific moments and narratives just for certain shows and countries.
“I want people to feel an emotion deeper than a party performance.
From Coachella and the Sphere to the Pyramids of Giza, you’ve brought Anyma to some incredible stages. What are you looking forward to about bringing that world to MARQUEE?
Every show is special and it’s fun challenging ourselves to push the project creatively and deliver an experience people will hopefully remember that’s specifically for them, there in their environment. The MARQUEE show should be more intimate, which is a fun connection back to my club roots, but with a space that still allows a canvas for us from a production and visual perspective.
Singapore will be experiencing Anyma live for the first time. What do you hope the crowd walks away remembering from that night?
I hope mostly inspired and reflective. I want to show up for the community in Singapore, bring the best possible experience, and set the tone for the rest of the F1 race weekend.
