The Internet Doesn't Know What to Make of 'Sonic the Hedgehog'
What are your thoughts on the film?
Since it was announced that a live-animated version of Sonic the Hedgehog was in the works, fans of the hit video game were excited to see the movie in action.
However shortly after the premiere of the project’s debut trailer, the Internet quickly blew up with negative comments regarding everything from the movie’s design, how Sonic looks and, of course, the odd choice of using Coolio’s “Gangsta’s Paradise” over the three-and-a-half-minute clip. The only redeeming trait of the film seems to be Jim Carrey’s portrayal of the evil Dr. Robotnik, which essentially taps into ’90s era Carrey.
In terms of Sonic‘s new revamped look, fans can’t help feeling unsettled regarding the fact that he looks too much like a human, teeth and all.
Sonic the Hedgehog finds Ben Schwartz voicing the titular character, while James Marsden plays his sidekick Tom Wachowski. The film drops in theaters this November. Check out some of the Internet reactions below and let us know your thoughts on the upcoming film in the comment section.
