Heelys has partnered with SEGA to debut the Sonic the Hedgehog Gio footwear collection

The limited-edition release includes character-themed colorways honoring Sonic and Amy Rose with removable heel wheels

Both models are available now for $70 USD via Heelys and select global retailers

Wheeled footwear pioneer Heelys has officially teamed up with SEGA to release the Sonic the Hedgehog x Heelys Gio Collection, transforming the classic rolling silhouette into a high-speed tribute to the gaming icon. Unveiled in Carrollton, Texas, the limited-edition collaboration merges retro gaming nostalgia with skate functionality across two character-inspired models.

The capsule adapts the fan-favorite Heelys Gio footwear silhouette with detailed aesthetic cues celebrating the franchise’s Green Hill Zone heritage. The Sonic Gio arrives dressed in the hedgehog’s signature vibrant blue shade, highlighted by iconic gold ring graphics positioned across the upper. Complementing the lead model, the Amy Rose Gio is executed in an all-over pink colorway accented by printed sparkle detailing on the heel counter. Both silhouettes incorporate Heelys’ signature recessed heel wheels, offering seamless transitions between walking and rolling.

“We’re thrilled to bring two iconic brands like Sonic the Hedgehog and Heelys together in a partnership that blends gaming culture with innovative footwear design,” stated Alexander Gomez, Vice President of Licensing & Partnerships at SEGA of America. Sara Arbelaez, Social Media and Partnerships Strategist at Heelys, highlighted fan enthusiasm, adding, “Fans have been asking for this collab for years and we couldn’t be more excited to finally roll it out together and see everyone have fun.”

The Sonic the Hedgehog x Heelys collection is available now on Heelys and at select global stockists for a retail price of $70 USD.
