Shoe Palace & Jordan Brand Honors Community Leader SP Gina With Latest Air Jordan 1
Doused in treated leather and silvery mesh.

With many iterations of Air Jordans expected to release, like the upcoming Supreme x Air Jordan 14s recently seen on Bloody Osiris, this year’s slate also includes a debut collaboration with Shoe Palace — a pair of Air Jordan 1s honoring SP Gina, a teacher and community leader from California who has dedicated her life mentoring children academically.
The Shoe Palace x Air Jordan 1 HI OG “SP Gina” is dominated by a glistening black upper textured with treated leather and silvery mesh. Its OG tongue is kept intact, using nylon as the base material. At the ankle collar, Air Jordan branding is stamped over a treated leather panel, which also appears at the heel and the Swoosh logo. A tonal midsole is underscored by a thin red outsole that nods to the retro heritage of the silhouette. Other highlights include a metallic Jumpman tag that bears the shape of an apple as well as artwork on the insole. This release also includes three sets of monochromatic apparel: Black and white T-shirts with a caricature of SP Gina that references an early profile of Spike Lee, two logo-emblazoned hoodies and a black tee.
The sneakers will see an exclusive early launch at Shoe Palace’s website and at its San Jose location on May 25, while its other locations will receive the sneakers on June 1. In order to secure a purchase during the initial launch, customers will have to pass a scantron test that will be handled by the teacher herself.
