Last week at Paris Fashion Week, OAMC co-founder and creative director Luke Meier shared first-hand details on his Fall/Winter 2019 collection, which he called his “most personal yet.” Now, the brand is giving HYPEBEAST an exclusive first look at its futuristic Spring/Summer 2019 campaign.
Centered around the concept of “compression,” the neutral-toned assortment draws upon various shapes and fabrications in order to fuse a present-day look with garments that suggest the aesthetic of the world to come. Silhouettes shift between long and abbreviated lengths in outerwear, while bottoms fluctuate from voluminous shorts to tailored ankle pants. A watercolor motif — one of the key prints throughout — adds a rugged touch but is balanced by way of knit tops, which bring a softness to the pieces. Lug sole boots anchor the range, ushering in a utilitarian and militant mood. Details such as cinched drawcords on hemlines and hoods, elastic waist-ties and waxed coating on certain fabrics bring the compression approach full-circle.
