Lacoste Unveils Spring/Summer 2027 Collection at Paris Fashion Week
This season’s theme—Dress Code: Beyond White.
The Lacoste Spring/Summer 2027 runway show unfolded at the iconic Court Philippe-Chatrier. The set design paid homage to the raw beauty of earthy materials, their rich textures and tones, and the industrial machinery used to produce the famous clay courts. Inspired by this signature red clay, the entire show space was awash in rolling earth. The guest seating also nodded to the clay factories, while the runway itself—set across this demanding terrain—echoed the collection’s relentless exploration of speed.
For the Spring/Summer 2027 collection, Lacoste Creative Director Pelagia Kolotouros introduces a new creative vision: tennis apparel is no longer bound by traditional uniforms, but serves as a canvas for individual expression. This ethos defines the season’s core theme—Dress Code: Beyond White.
Kolotouros envisions the court as a space in constant flux. Footwork overlaps, lines blur; clay dusts the hems of skirts, and sweat becomes a badge of honor. Traces once deemed imperfections are now celebrated as testaments to achievement, forming the foundation of this season’s design language. Spotless white uniforms make way for garments that bear the vibrant marks of intense athletic exertion. The clothes move with the body rather than restricting it: tailoring skims the silhouette without compromising movement. In the focused moment before a serve, every detail matters—from the drape of the fabric and the painted lines of the court to the steady rhythm of a breath.
This season shatters the rigid constraints and hierarchies of traditional preppy style. Cottons are garment-dyed and enzyme-washed to soften stiff structures and release a fluid, effortless energy. Tropical wools are deconstructed for a relaxed, supple feel, while washed silks retain their raw, natural texture, stripping away any formal stuffiness. Fine jersey knits feature delicate perforations to enhance breathability and freedom of movement, and technical fabrics are finished with rolled hems to cultivate an effortlessly relaxed attitude.
On the runway, deep teal coats and softly tailored suits were styled in relaxed, belted silhouettes, accented with lanyards and neon yellow charms. Oversized piqué polo shirts were layered over technical long-sleeve knits and paired with semi-pleated skirts. Bright cobalt nylon tracksuits and vibrant orange zip-up vests channeled the dynamic energy of a pre-match warm-up. White jackets and wide-leg trousers featured hems artfully dusted with faux red clay, resembling authentic stains from the court. Crinkled cottons and graphic tees completed a versatile wardrobe designed for endless, personalized mixing and matching.
Two standout accessories brought the spirit of the court to the streets. Echoing the graphic tees and lanyards, the new René bag drew inspiration from Irving Penn’s iconic 1984 photograph of a polo shirt. Featuring an asymmetric flap that mimics the casual drape of a cotton piqué collar, the bag is available in pure white, an ombré clay hue, and mirrored silver. The sculptural ACE-T1 cage sneaker pays homage to the taut tension of a tennis net, capturing the essence of power and speed in three variations: a casual sneaker, a tennis wedge, and a lace-up pump.
The season’s color palette is drawn straight from the post-match terrain, grounded in sun-baked clay and mineral earth tones. Pops of metallic silver, neon yellow, and cobalt blue punctuate the collection, delivering a vibrant jolt of visual tension.
